Sustainable, Environmentally Responsible and Economically Viable

FIT Pallets will provide years of service, are 100 percent recyclable, and won’t end up in a landfill. If a pallet is damaged, it can be ground and reused in new pallets. Our pallets preserve natural resources , fossil fuels and trees, as well as help to reduce greenhouse gases which contribute to depleting  the ozone layer and generating acid rain. Replacing all wooden pallets with FIT Pallets would remove billions of pounds of non-value freight from America’s shipping and supply-chain infrastructure, resulting in huge fuel savings.

Wood pallets have nails and splinters which pose risks to people, product, and automated processing. FIT Pallets are esthetically pleasing and reduce the potential for worker injuries and claims while protecting your product and manufacturing processes.

Wood pallets support mold and bacterial growth fostering a potential hazard and can be a source for infestations. Wood pallets that are to be exported are required by regulation (ISPM 15) to be heat treated or fumigated, adding additional cost. FIT Pallets are:

  • Mold and bacteria resistant without fungicides, as confirmed by Michigan State University testing
  • Exempt from International Standards of Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) 15 requirement
  • FDA compliant with respect to indirect food contact

FIT Pallets are 25% lighter than the average multiuse wood pallet. The reduction in weight results in lowered fleet fuel cost and a reduced impact on the environment, based on lowered greenhouse gas emissions.

Conventional plastic pallets are made from thermoplastic resins. By definition, these pallets soften in elevated temperatures and creep or deform, even at room temperature, under load. By contrast, thermoset resins undergo a chemical change as they are molded, which gives them both outstanding strength and creep resistance. The enhanced engineering properties garnered from the thermoset resin provides superior protection for your products.

Conventional plastics require toxic halogenated fire retardant chemicals to meet FM and UL fire requirements. FIT Pallets advanced material formulation meets the appropriate fire requirements without the addition of hazardous materials. A side benefit of our advanced material formulation is that it can only be used for recycling in the FIT Pallets manufacturing process. Consequently, FIT Pallets are unlikely to be stolen to be used in the thermoplastic recycling industry. Theft of conventional plastic pallets for this purpose has evolved into a significant issue for pallet owners and law enforcement.

While conventional plastic pallets and FIT Pallets use oil based resins, the FIT Pallets use about 80% less resin than convention plastic pallets. The FIT Pallets not only preserves a valuable natural resource, they also provide isolation from higher pallet cost based on rising oil prices.
